Isolation Transformers

An isolation transformer is a safety-critical device designed to transfer electrical power while physically and electrically decoupling the input from the output. Unlike an autotransformer, it features two separate windings (primary and secondary) that have no direct electrical connection, transferring energy solely through magnetic induction.

Key Features

  • Galvanic Isolation: Physically separates the load from the power source, eliminating direct conduction paths.
  • Enhanced Safety: Significantly reduces the risk of electric shock by isolating the secondary circuit from the earth ground.
  • Noise & Surge Protection: Acts as a high-frequency filter to block electrical noise, spikes, and transients from reaching sensitive equipment.
  • Ground Loop Elimination: Breaks unwanted ground loops that can cause signal interference in audio, video, and data systems.
